They are on the market in two varieties: steel or alloy and both have a number of benefits.
Winter steel wheels have a tendency to be cheaper than alloy alternatives and because they are smaller, they are safer than the alloy variety. If you are nervous about sliding and breaking your wheels during wintertime then perhaps these are the better choice. Winter alloy wheels are much nicer to look at and are nicely suited to bigger vehicles. If you want your vehicle to look as good as you can then this is the option for you! By installing winter wheels and tyres to your car or van you are instantly making it far safer on the road. However, you should consistently be cautious whilst driving throughout the winter – other drivers may not be as well prepared!
