Only Problem Is With Ice – Windshield Scratch Repair Review
I’ve had my car’s chipped windshield professionally repaired previously and I believe the outcomes of using the product is comparable. I followed the directions step-by-step and it worked. I end up needing to use a large amount of these for windscreen scratches when I could use just one or two more top quality microfiber towels.
I did go overboard with it and wound up chipping away the surplus resin for quite a while with the blade. In 2006, there is no-one in my region who repaired windscreens.
The product works more effectively than the much more costly kits available on the market. Amazon’s prices make sure they are a good deal too for bumper scuff repair. It’ll make the broken region vanish. They’re thick enough to wash, thick enough to soak up moisture without saturating rapidly, yet not water-repellant. Valeo wipers lasted about three years. I’m in a waiting mode to see if the crack is actually stopped or whether it’s just taking a breather.
Directions were super easy to follow (possibly even too detailed). A little expensive, but worthwhile. The final key stage is to use a great blacklight to cure the resin.
After speaking with a couple of glass repair retailers my expectations were fairly reduced: both of them asserted this quarter-sized bull-eye chip with star-burst cracks around it couldn’t be totally fixed and would stay almost as visible as it was before the fix. My scratched windscreen was just about 1/2″ long, so not very long. But how much cash do you think the windscreen company is making off individuals trying it out and then can not be bothered to return it?
Hence it is a complete five-star rating from me despite this. This package includes all you need and works wonderfully.
And, unlike some of the other feedback, I wasn’t able to return and fill in these spots after it cured. The toughest component was lining up the repair/delivery gadget over the divet. I realized that this wiper is made in China. Second, take notice of the dimensions. Once more, shame on Amazon for not determining how to place several windshield scratch repair wiper blades in a very large box!
They hold up well within the dryer and washer and clean perfectly after washing. (I rolled my windows all the way up, and left the vehicle under the sun.) After I received the package, I applied it (after reading, and re-reading the directions). I wasn’t likely to purchase a car windscreen replacement on a lease.
Well, my passenger side needs windshield scratch repair and it is only been set up for just two weeks. I wouldn’t have believed it worked for auto glass estimate if I didn’t actually do it.
