Deciding Between Regular Auto Insurance And CTP
When we are faced with the renewal of our car registrations, we will be dealing with coverage renewals also. Although this is a given fact every time we renew, it pays to know what kinds of coverage are out there. There are two types one can have, being the regular auto insurance and CTP or what is commonly called as compulsory third party liability coverage.
Auto policies in general covers your automobile. It protects your pocket in terms of exorbitant damages should you figure in an accident and need to have it repaired or even replaced. CTP on the other hand deals with something much more valuable.
When one figures in an accident there will be damages but these damages are not limited to the automobile alone. Some damages can be caused to persons and other property as well. In the case of the former, serious injury is one kind of damage that can be hard to deal with, not only monetarily but psychologically as well.
In an event therefore of an accident, a regular auto policy will only cover damages to your car or the cars involved in an accident. It will not cover injuries to persons, no matter how small or minimal it may be. Thus a CTP coverage will be much needed if injuries do occur.
Should one be convinced of the many advantages of CTP, the next step will be to find a provider. The provider should be recognized in the field and one that has a good track record. They should also respond well in terms of paper work and expediting claims.
A majority of CTP coverage policies do not include claims for those who cause an accident. But in fact, recent developments have seen in adequate coverage for those who may have even caused the accident. Compare policies that you have an eye on and try to get one that gives you the most possible claim award under any situation.
