Seems To Be Good Stuff – Smart Phone Car Mount Review
None of the pieces deteriorated when I parked in the sun, and the clamp stayed tight and didn’t break even though I released it way more often than I should. I still use this product every day with my iPod to and from work. This mount has been rock solid for me, and I’ve had zero problems with it…only positive experiences. The vent mount isn’t the perfect fit for my vents (Scion xB), but I’ve managed to get it to work just fine.
The arms get off-centered and no longer close onto the phone. We have owned this product for about two months, now, and we have been generally pleased with it. I use this with my HTC EVO 4G phone and it works pretty well. No real complaints other than when it is connected to the air vents (2010 Kia Forte); it makes an annoying rattling sound. I’ve gone through a lot of these things, and trust me you’re getting a great deal here. I haven’t had any problems with it coming unstuck or anything, it seems pretty solid as a rock once it’s on the windshield.
The housing does not block the charge or audio ports and it will hold the phone in landscape position. Great product and great buy. I just got an iPhone and wanted to be able to mount it in the vent or easy viewing range and this did the job perfectly. Spring loaded adjustable side arms let you securely hold about any smart phone.
The “foot” of the clip also makes it impossible to mount successfully in more ideal positions, and adds no stability. Almost every time I put the phone in/out the thing falls out of the vent.
Studies have shown that even just talking hands-free can affect your reaction time, so it’s not recommended (and may even be illegal in some places). Dialing out or scrolling through lists of any sort would be even worse. The suction is very strong and doesn’t wiggle at all. The vent mount is kind of flimsy and if your vent vertical movements are loose, the weight of the phone will definitely pull it down.
The design allows me to have the phone connected to the car charger while in use — this is big plus since using the GPS navigation is a big battery drain. Great design and competitively priced. The holder itself is a great solution for those of us with odd sized devices or devices with a protective case installed. I use my iPhone for XM radio and Navagon GPS navigation in my car. The vent mount works with my 06 Accord. I needed a car mount for my Samsung Captivate, and I found this product via the XDA forums.
This product worked perfect for what I was looking for. I wanted something to attach to my air vent, since that is the best place in my car to put my phones GPS, and it not be in the way. I got this one and the Motorola brand dash mount. The Motorola mount is nice that it puts the phone in to car mode automatically when you put the phone on it.
To say that I have tried almost everything in order to safely and logically dock my phone in the car is an understatement. CHAR-BROIL INFRARED GRILL REVIEW.
